Wicca itself is not an ancient religion, but is based upon classical Witchcraft, a Fertility cult, which is still practiced by many people worldwide today, as both classical witchcraft and its offshoot, Wicca. It is a religion based upon the belief of a God and Goddess that are supreme deities. Followers of Wicca follow one cardinal rule, known as the Wiccan Rede: An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will.
Wicca is the largest of the Neopagan religions. Wiccans have great reverence for the Earth and for their Goddess and her consort, the horned God. Many, perhaps most, are solitary practitioners. Others form small groups of believers, called covens, groves, etc. Because of centuries of religious propaganda and misinformation, many conservative Christians, and others, associate Wiccans with Satanists even though the two belief systems are as different as Christianity and Atheism.
This section contains items pertaining to classical witchcraft (the fertility cult) and Wicca, the modern religion, only. It does not contain any items pertaining to the “Left-hand path” which is the inversion of Christianity that worships the adversary character and can only exist or be practised within that doctrine and dogma. Those materials are available elsewhere on the Internet.

Bonewits writes of Witchcraft from its disputed origins, to the Inquisition, to its re-invention in the 20th century. A scholarly, pungent, witty and sometimes personal account. The book is a succinct guide to the many ways the term “witch” has been used over the centuries, and includes a preface by Ashleen O’Gaea (author of “The Family Wicca Book”), a detailed recommended reading list, and an analysis of the standard ritual design used by most Wiccan traditions. It is the fruit of the author’s over thirty years of Wiccan research and practice.
