Islam is an off-shoot of Judaism which centers around the prophet, Mohammed, who received a divine revelation and wrote it down in the Q’uran. Muslims, practitioners of Islam, hold sacred the Tanakh or Torah of the Judaic faith as well as the Qu’ran. They also hold Jesus of Nazareth to be a sacred prophet, as the Christians do.
Islam means ‘submission’ to Allah, who is the creator. There are many misconceptions and misperceptions of this religion, as well as many different sects with different interpretations of the sacred books and texts.
