Spokane parks to detonate squirrels

caddyshack all over againThe Finch Arboretum is being overrun by ground squirrels, and Spokane Parks and Recreation is bringing in some special artillery.

The agency is using a special machine called the Rodenator Pro to detonate some of the estimated 100 to 150 squirrels tearing up the grounds.

Shades of Carl Spackler, the gopher-hating groundskeeper from "Caddyshack."

Facebook friends are virtual, finds Oxford University study

facebookFacebook might give us the ability to have thousands of friends but it does nothing to expand how many we keep in real life, an Oxford University study has found.

For humans appear incapable of maintaining more than about 150 active relationships, according to Robin Dunbar, a professor of evolutionary anthropology.

He arrived at that figure – coined 'Dunbar's number' – in the 1990s.
